So Ted (friend at work) said to me a few minutes ago that Bronson was discussed in the Red Sox post game last night. Apparently, Jack Welch was there and they were discussing how good it would be to still have him. OK - great!! Yay!! But I guess they were also comparing what his numbers are versus what they would be if he were still in the AL.
So I sent the link from my "Admissions II" post. I pointed out that in terms of ERA - Bronson currently LEADS MLB - with 2.58. According to the formula in the SI article - the difference between the NL and the AL is between +.33 and .50. So when you plug Bronson's numbers into that he would be between 2.91 and 3.08. Which would STILL have him in the top 5 AL pitchers. My point - the adjustment isn't THAT drastic and people need to STOP making it out to be.
Just sayin'...
